Carlo began teaching in his inimitable style so long ago the actual event is lost in the mists of time. Scores of students have slipped through his hands in the intervening years. It is said Castro himself learnt a few cheeky moves from our man in Havana. Needless to say his appearance there was celebrated on the now infamous 5c Correos de Cuba postage stamp apparently giving Che some dress styling tips at the same time! After the notorious 'pasión del corazón' involving Guevaras live-in-lover Carlo resettled in Devon.Salsa Zucar has been running in Totnes for 10years. Nestling in the Methodist Church Hall, a utilitarian but serviceable space. Carlo gives 99.98% every class and we as a group are taken on a journey of passion and exhilarating exercise for an hour at a time. Leaving, spent but thrilled every night. I can only hope you will come and dance with us to experience this 'WONDERFUL JOURNEY'.

Davy, Carlo's Lieutenant, takes care of the publicity. Designing the websites, flyers, postcards, signs, actually anything remotely designable, he'll get his mucky little hands all over it! He is also Carlo's teaching stand-in, for when Carlo has to do those things abroad that he has to do! He enjoys it, being able to throw his weight around and bark orders at the class, albeit with a quieter more refined way than Carlo's enthusiastic roar!
He has been dancing Salsa since August 22nd 2002. This is commonly known as 'quite a while' The start he found err... hard going, but he soon discovered it was his passion! Getting over the early dilemmas, the dropped women, the seemingly three left feet, the inability to recognise left and right, clockwise and anti clockwise, was quite a task. Luckily by some Grace, it turned out he could count all the way to eight, admittedly he manages, to this day, to forget to call the four and the eight. But... it seems to work.
So if you get an email, chances are it will come from Davy. This is best, as you may not actually understand Carlo's email because of his accent!
